The All Women Zone

Womanhood is a fun and beautiful journey. Unfortunately, sometimes it is far from easy ...
Visibility / Career Success: Many women were not given permission as children or adolescents to go after what they wanted, and frequently this perpetuates into adulthood. All too often women sit back, remaining part of the background, instead of staking their claim outright to the life they desire. For those women, jealousy tends to build up both toward other women as well as men who know what they want and aren’t afraid to seize it. The flipside of this are the women who do create a life of their choosing, but don’t realize that there will be consequences in doing so. For example, they must endure the barbs of jealousy being flung at them from those who remain stagnant or inactive. Subsequently, the fear of increased backlash often keeps them from reaching their full potential. Not to mention, they don’t realize that there will be more demands made on them as their responsibilities grow.
Finding Her Own Voice: Fear of confrontation and of one’s own anger often leads to the repression of emotion. This repression causes a downward spiral. The more a woman withholds her feelings, the more she berates herself for doing so, and the farther her self-esteem falls. The cycle will continue until eventually she will reach a breaking point, exploding at the next person who triggers her anger or other strong emotion. From this point, the cycle begins anew. For obvious reasons, this can create problems in relationships, dangerously low self-esteem, and physical health issues.
Infertility: Bottom line, infertility and the process of trying to get pregnant once it becomes a factor can be a demoralizing experience for a woman. She might have done everything right, including waiting for the right man and/or holding off until her career was up and running. Then, when she finally sets out to do the most natural thing a woman can do, procreate, she cannot. She feels out of control and confused. She was raised believing that if she followed all the rules, then she would get what she wanted. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always go as planned. Frequently, control issues are ignited during this trying process.
